We are not a roofing contractor and do no roofing work. We don't vouch for any roofer's license, insurance or workmanship. Check those yourself: licenses at verify.tn.gov, insurance by asking for proof, and workmanship by asking for references and a local address.

Our summaries of Tennessee law, such as the right to cancel an insurance-paid roofing contract until midnight of the third business day after a written denial from your insurer, are a summary of public law, not legal advice. For your own situation, speak with a lawyer, your insurer or the relevant state office. Nothing on this site is advice about an insurance claim.

Cost figures come from named third-party sources with their year: This Old House (2026), RoofObservations (2026) and ContractorPlus (2026). Those sources don't always agree, and your price depends on the roof itself. Only a written estimate from a roofer reflects your home.

Storm details come from the National Weather Service in Morristown, the Storm Prediction Center and FEMA. Permit contacts come from city and county offices and can change, so confirm with the office before work starts. Links to outside sites are offered for convenience, and we don't control what they publish.
